Smartisan Nut 3 is the latest smartphone from Smartisan, an a follow up to the Smartisan Nut Pro 2 we reviewed earlier. There are lots of changes in this new smartphone, as the company really did their best on their best series.
But it looks like Smartisan might have stylishly change the Nut to a Mix series, with its tri-bezel-less display. The company also let go of the 6GB/256GB version, after recording poor sales of that version. The chipset was also watered down a bit, as it houses the Snapdragon 625. Want to know more? DESIGN
There’s no major difference at the rear, still sports the same Metal body that’s exquisitely polished to perfection. There’s a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 at the rear protecting it as well. It’s also worthy to note that the Smartisan logo at the middle reflects light beautifully.
The dual rear cameras are now uniquely placed with the LED flash, just like we saw on the Xiaomi Mi A1. The fact that it measures just 7.16mm in thickness while housing a massive battery is simply mind-blowing. It weighs just 154g as well and available in Black, Red and Gold colours.
DISPLAY
The Nut is now Smartisan Mix series by design. The company brought on the tri-bezel-less display we’ve seen on most Mix series in China. The stretches all the way to the top unlike on the Nut Pro 2, while the bottom bezel houses a selfie camera and physical home button.
Focusing on the highlight, which is the 5.99-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. It has a resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels and 403 pixels per inch density with 85% NTSC and 1500:1 contrast ratio. There’s a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protecting it as it stretches up to 81.2% screen to body ratio.
HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
The Smartisan Nut 3 is powered by the Snapdragon 625 chip from Qualcomm. The octa-core processor here runs at a smooth speed of 2.0GHz for a smooth ride. In the graphics department, the Adreno 506 graphics processor handles graphics.
In terms of RAM, it has 4GB RAM space to handle all your heavy multitasking all through the day. With a memory speed of 933MHz, the RAM will be more efficient and fast. There are three versions in terms of storage, 32GB, 64GB and 128GB variants. However, they are all upgradeable up to 256GB with a memory card. The Nut 3 runs on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system with Smartisan UI 4.0.
CAMERA
The three 13MP camera has f/2.2 aperture. There are two of the cameras at the rear and one in the front for selfies. The main rear shooter has a 6P Lens and a Blur filter glass, accompanied with lots of internal features with a LED flash as well. While the 13MP selfie camera is always ready to take the best selfies.
BATTERY
The Smartisan Nut 3 is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 4000mAh battery with fast charging technology.
