The Xperia Pro-I, Sony’s newest premium Android smartphone, was officially unveiled on Monday. The Xperia Pro-I is the successor to the Xperia Pro from last year, and it’s aimed at professional photographers and creators, just like its predecessor. With a large 1.0-inch primary sensor and variable aperture, the new smartphone’s camera hardware is even more impressive.
The Sony Xperia Pro-I has a 6.5-inch 4K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, which is the same as the previous model. Gorilla Glass Victus protects the front, while Gorilla Glass 6 protects the back. The Xperia Pro-I is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chipset, which is coupled with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of flash storage.
This phone’s main selling point is its camera hardware. On the back, it has a triple camera array, including a 12-megapixel main camera with a massive 1.0-inch sensor and variable f/2.0-4.0 aperture. A 12MP telephoto shooter and a 12MP ultra-wide camera supplement the primary camera.
The Xperia Pro-I can record 4K HDR videos at up to 120fps and slow-motion footage at 720p @ 120fps. The smartphone has a 4,500mAh battery,and it supports fast charging via a 30W fast charger.
Other features of the Xperia Pro-I ia side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.2, a 3.5mm audio jack, stereo speakers, and Dolby Atmos support. In terms of software, the phone comes pre-installed with Android 11. Sony also sells a Vlog Monitor accessory that lets creators shoot vlogs with their Xperia Pro-I.
