The TECNO Camon 12 Pro comes as the successor to the Camon 11 Pro which was released in September 2018. The Camon series is a camera-based series from TECNO.

The Camon 12 Pro features a 6.55-inch AMOLED display with 720 x 1548 pixels resolution. It is powered by the MediaTek Octa-core 2.35 GHz Helio P22 processor, 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It also comes with a triple 16MP + 8MP + 2 MP Back and 32 MP selfie camera.

The design of TECNO Camon 12 Pro is somewhat premium. Just like what we have on the TECNO Phantom 9.  It features a polycarbonate design with aluminium frames. The front is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with 2.5D curved display.

The phone weighs 164.4 grams and measures 158.6 x 75.5 x 7.8 mm in dimensions. The back is home to triple cameras setup and TECNO brand name. The camera is aligned at the top left in a horizontal position and on the bottom left is the TECNO brand name. While the fingerprint reader is placed on the screen just like the one on the Phantom 9.

The display of the Camon 12 Pro is something new in the Camon series. It features waterdrop display, which for some unknown reason(s), TECNO are calling it Dot-in display.  It’s not something new, other smartphone makers like Samsung have been using the name for some times now.

The device features a 6.4 inches AMOLED display with 720 x 1548 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Protecting the display from scratch or break is a Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The display allows up to 5 fingers touchscreen and has an 84% screen-to-body ratio.

Underneath the Camon 12 Pro, is a MediaTek Helio P22 SoC paired with a 6GB RAM. The Helio P22 chip features four Cortex-A53 clocked at 2.0GHz with four Cortex-A53 clocked at 1.8GHz and PowerVR GE8320 Graphics Processing Unit.

The storage unit available here is 64GB and if that’s not enough, there is a dedicated microSD slot for up to 500GB additional storage. Running inside the Camon 12 Pro is Android 9.0 Pie with HiOS 5.5 custom skin on top.

The TECNO Camon 12 Pro sports a triple rear camera module which comprises of a 16MP main sensor, an 8MP wide-angle sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The camera features a Quad-LED single-tone flash and can record 1080p videos at 30fps. Other camera features include Autofocus, Continuous shooting, panorama, HDR, Face detection e.t.c.

The Selfie camera is being housed by the Dot-in display, and features a 32MP sensor with dual-LED, AI Face ID, HDR+, Face Beautification and Scene recognition.

The TECNO Camon 12 Pro packs a non-removable Li-Ion 3,500 mAh battery capacity with fast charging support. The battery has a talk time of up to 29 hours and a stand by time of up to 400 hours.
