Tecno has quietly introduced the Spark 30, followed by an official announcement today confirming the launch of the new smartphone series. Alongside the standard model, Tecno has introduced the Spark 30 Pro, both of which will feature exclusive Transformers-themed editions.
The Spark 30 Pro is equipped with LTE Advanced (4.5G) connectivity and showcases some of Tecno’s latest AI-driven features.
With an astounding peak brightness of 1,700 nits, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with FullHD+ resolution, the Pro model has it all. It also has a 13MP front camera set inside a punch-hole design, along with an in-display fingerprint sensor.
On the rear, the Spark 30 Pro features a dual-camera setup, headlined by a 108MP primary sensor, “AI Camera,” likely designed to enhance depth in portrait photography.
Powered by MediaTek’s Helio G100 chipset, the Spark 30 Pro boasts a performance edge over its predecessor, the Helio G99, making it one of the strongest LTE-only platforms available. The device comes with 8GB of RAM, expandable to 16GB via virtual memory, and offers storage options of 128GB or 256GB.
Tecno emphasized the development of its AI technology, and the Spark 30 Pro is loaded with AI-driven features such as AIGC Imaging, which includes AI portrait modes, an eraser tool, and cut-out capabilities. The phone also integrates a voice assistant powered by Google Gemini, alongside customizable features like AI Wallpaper and AI Artboard, which allow users to personalize their experience.
The Spark 30 Pro is designed with durability in mind, measuring just 7.4mm in thickness and housing a 5,000mAh battery that supports 33W fast charging. According to Tecno, the phone is engineered to withstand 25,000 drops from 10cm, 600 tumbles, and 2,000 compressions. The USB-C port is rated for 20,000 plug-ins, and the volume buttons for 500,000 presses.
Additional features of the Spark 30 Pro include dual stereo speakers, Dolby Hi-Res Audio, FM radio, NFC, and an infrared port for controlling household devices.
Both the Spark 30 and Spark 30 Pro will feature Transformers-inspired designs. The Spark 30 is styled in a Bumblebee-themed black and yellow, while the Spark 30 Pro takes its colors from Optimus Prime, with blue, red, and silver options.
In a press release, Tecno highlighted its collaboration with Hasbro, the company behind the Transformers franchise, as a move to “bring added excitement to energetic youth.” Each device will come with exclusive branded merchandise and gift sets.
Apart from the exclusive Transformers versions, Obsidian Edge (Black) and Arctic Glow (White) will also be available as colour options for the Spark 30 Pro. Details regarding availability and pricing are still pending.
