TECNO POP 1 also known as TECNO F3 is a bezel-less device that was launched alongside the Camon X and Camon X Pro by TECNO Mobile. The device is the advanced version of the F2, hence having a code name “TECNO F3”.

DESIGN

This is a better-looking budget smartphone compared to the F1 and F2 smartphones. Personally, I think it’s still disappointing none of the budget smartphones come with a fingerprint scanner.

Nonetheless, the POP 1 is covered with a much attractive plastic body, and a rear loudspeaker for quality music and bass. Love the black antenna line on the Red and Ice Blue colours, it’s available in Champagne Gold and Elegant Black as well. The TECNO POP 1 is also slim by the sides, measuring 8.5mm in thickness.

DISPLAY

It’s not as bezel-less like the Camon smartphones launched with it, but the bezels have been reduced obviously. Unlike the other F smartphones, the top and bottom bezel is super minimal.

A bigger 5.5-inch FWVGA IPS capacitive touchscreen should display your games and movies pretty well. With a resolution of 960 x 480 pixels, details on the screen should be more clear and sharp than the other F phones.

HARDWARE and SOFTWARE

I guess this was “built for speed” as well, there’s no difference whatsoever in terms of hardware and software. A MediaTek chip is still in charge with 4-cores processor and 32-bit CPU architecture. The Quad-core processor on the POP 1 reaches a speed of 1.3GHz with 28nm process technology.

Equipped with the Split Screen feature and 1GB RAM space, letting you use two apps at the same time. The Android 7.0 Nougat operating system runs on the device, offering the Nougat experience. Store up files and apps with the 8GB internal storage space, you can upgrade up to 32GB as well.

CAMERA

Explore your photography options with the 5MP rear camera on the device. The camera is equipped with a dual-LED flash by its side and other features inside for taking clear photographs. There’s another 5MP selfie camera with beautify technology and soft LED flash for capturing natural-looking selfies even at night.

BATTERY

The TECNO POP 1 is powered by a removable Li-Ion 2400mAh battery with fast no charging technology.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

Tecno POP 1 is not yet available in Shopping stores but should retail between $89 to $90, that’s about (N25,000 – N27,000).
