TECNO Pop 2S Pro is the latest addition to the Pop Series from TECNO and is a slightly specced TECNO Pop 2s, hence the pro in its name. The new TECNO Pop 2S Pro still has the same 5.5-inch display with same form factor and aspect ratio, a rear fingerprint sensor, 3,050mAh battery, runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and has 4G LTE. However, this pro version upped the RAM to 2GB, Storage to 32GB and added a secondary rear-facing camera making the total camera count here 3. Let’s find out more.

Tecno Pop 2S Pro

Tecno Pop 2S Pro has a pretty standard design for a budget device. The back is made of plastic as expected with the fingerprint sensor and dual camera setup resting at the back. The front has a 5.5-inch HD+ display with is based on the 18:9 aspect ratios with just enough notch up top for both a single front-facing camera and an LED flash. There is also a chin down below the display. For now, there is only one colour option available; a Black to blue gradient. It also has the volume buttons as well as the lower button on the right side. You can make use of two SIM cards here with a separate slot for a MicroSD card for more storage.

Camera Review

At the back of the TECNO Pop 2S Pro is a dual camera setup consisting of a main 13MP camera and a secondary 2MP depth sensor camera for portrait mode shots. There is also an LED flash to help with low light conditions. As for selfies, the single 8MP Front facing camera is also accompanied by an LED flash to light up your selfies in those low lit environments.

Hardware and Software

The brain behind the TECNO Pop 2S Pro is the same MT6761 Helio A22 SoC from MediaTek which has a quad-core processor which Clocks up to 2.0GHz paired with a PowerVR GE6300 GPU for gaming. It has 2GB of RAM for multitasking of apps and 32GB of internal storage for files. More storage can be added through the MicroSD card slot of up to 64GB. It runs TECNO’s HiOS Skin on top of Android 8.1 Oreo.

Battery and Connectivity

Lighting up the display is a pretty moderate 3,050mAh battery. No fast charging here. However, there is 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, GPS, a 3.5mm jack and a microUSB port through which charging and file transfer is done.

Tecno Pop 2S Pro has been given an official price yet but rumours peg it at around $100 which is approximately N36,000.
