Tecno Pop 3 Plus is the latest entry-level smartphone from the Tecno which has a decent spec sheet. The new smartphone comes with a huge 6.52-inch display with a notch, a Mediatek Helio A22 SoC on the inside, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and a massive 4,000mAh battery which is where the “Plus” in its name comes from.

Tecno Pop 3 Plus Design And Display
Tecno Pop 3 Plus is rocking a big 6.52-inch IPS LCD display which uses a 19:9 aspect ratio and of course a waterdrop notch cutout for the front-facing camera. Tecno Pop 3 Plus has quite a big forehead just above the notch which an LED flash sits comfortable and also a big chin down at the bottom.
Turning the display over to the back reveals the single rear camera along with yet another LED flash. At the centre lies the fingerprint sensor as expected while the speaker is located at the bottom left corner, just below the imprinted Tecno name.
As for the body of this device, it is made with plastic which is expected given the price. It also weighs 180grams and measures 8.4mm in thickness with the battery inside. It is also rocking a dual SIM card slot with a separate dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion.
Camera Review
In the camera department, there is nothing spectacular going on for this device. It has a total of two cameras distributed evenly; one at the back and one at the front, both of which have an LED flash. Both the front and rear-facing camera are using an 8MP sensor.
The front-facing 8MP camera has an f/2.0 aperture, LED flash, HDR and can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps while the 8MP rear-facing camera has AF, HDR, Panorama and can as well shoot 1080p videos at 30fps.
Hardware and Software
Tecno Pop 3 Plus has a Mediatek Helio A22 SoC fitted inside it clocking speeds of up to 2.0GHz paired with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics and games. For multitasking through apps, there is 1GB of RAM handling that while 16GB of internal storage stores the files.
There are no other RAM and memory options for now however if the storage space isn’t enough for you, you can always expand the storage further, up to 128GB via the microSD card slot. As for the software, it runs Tecno’s HiOS 5.5 out of the box which is based on Android 9.0 Pie.
Battery and Connectivity
Tecno Pop 3 Plus has been fitted with a 4,000mAh battery which can get you through a whole day on a single charge. Unfortunately, there is no fast charging which normal for smartphones in this price range so charging will take quite a bit of time.
There is also no NFC on this device. However, there is 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, GPS, FM radio, a 3.5mm jack and a standard microUSB port for file transfer and charging.
