Tecno just dropped a new entry-level level Android Go smartphone as you can already tell from the name of the device. The new device sports a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with a notch, a front-facing camera with an LED flash and also a rear-facing camera with an LED flash.
It also has Mediatek Helio A22 SoC with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. A 4,000mAh battery is on the inside which brings the device to life. Let’s see what else this budget device Tecno has to offer.

Tecno Spark Go Plus Design And Display
Tecno Spark Go Plus is rocking a big 6.52-inch IPS LCD display which uses a rather weird 20:9 aspect ratio with a waterdrop notch at the top housing the front-facing camera. At the top of the device lies a bigger than normal bezel, so much so that it houses an LED flash for the front-facing camera. Of course, there is an LED flash at the bottom to even things out.
Being an entry-level device, the whole body is made of plastic as expected while the display at the front has a slab of glass protecting it. Turning the device over to the back reveals the fingerprint sensor, a single rear-facing camera and an LED flash.
Tecno Spark Go Plus weighs about 180grams and measures 8.4mm in thickness with two colours options to choose from. These colour options for this device includes Hillier Purple and Vacation Blue. It also has a dual SIM card slot with a dedicated microSD card for additional storage.
Camera Review
Tecno Spark Go Plus has just two cameras – one at the front in the waterdrop notch and one at the rear – both of which are an 8MP sensor with an f/2.0 aperture and an LED flash. So regardless of which camera you’re using, you’re getting the same image quality, right down to the LED flash.
Hardware and Software
Tecno Spark Go Plus has a Mediatek Helio A22 SoC on the inside clocking speeds of up to 2.0GHz alongside a PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics and games. For multitasking through apps, there is 2GB of RAM which is double the amount usually found on Android Go smartphones.
As for the storage, it comes with 32GB of internal storage which is expandable to 128GB via the dedicated microSD card slot available. Tecno Spark Go Plus runs their in-house HiOS 5.5.2 which is based on the Go Edition of Android 9.0 Pie.
Battery and Connectivity
Tecno Spark Go Plus has a 4,000mAh battery capacity for power storage which, unfortunately, doesn’t come with any type of fast charging so refilling the battery will take quite some time. Furthermore, charging on the device is done through the dated microUSB port which can also be used to transfer files.
There is also no NFC on this device as expected. However, there is 4G LTE connectivity which can be used on both SIM slots. It also has Bluetooth, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, GPS, FM radio and a 3.5mm jack.
Tecno Spark Go Plus Price and Availability
Tecno Pop 3 Plus starts at about $90 which is approximately N33,000 and is set to hit the shelves pretty soon. According to Tecno, the new Spark 3 Plus will come with a free hands-free headset, Gaana Plus music streaming service and an extra 1 Month warranty added to the standard to 12 months making it 13 months in India.
