TECNO recently unveiled a brand new smartphone and an addition to the Spark family – TECNO Spark Go – alongside the TECNO spark 4 Air.
The new TECNO Spark Go comes with almost the same specs and features as the Spark 4 Air which includes a 6.1-inch HD+ notched IPS LCD display, a MediaTek Helio A22 SoC on the inside hooked up to either 1GB or 2GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage.
It also has a 3,000mAh battery, single rear and front-facing camera and runs and Android 9.0 Pie.
Let’s find out more about the TECNO spark Go
Tecno Spark Go Air Key Specs
- 6.1-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 720 x 1560 pixels
- Android 9.0 Pie, 1GB/2GB Of RAM
- MediaTek Helio A22, Quad-core 2.0GHz
- 16GB built-in storage
- 8MP rear camera and 5MP selfie camera.
- 3,000mAh non-removable battery
Design And Display
Similar to the TECNO Spark 4 Air, the TECNO Spark Go also has a plastic body which comes in two colours – Nebula Black and Royal Purple – both of which have this little transition to black.
Still, at the back of the device, there is a single camera with a LED flash. Fingerprint sensor here is missing. Turning over to the front reveals the 6.1-inch notched display which has a 720 x 1560 pixel screen resolution. It uses a 19:9 aspect ratio and has a 282 pixel per inch density.
The notch at the top is occupied by a single front-facing camera which also has its own LED flash for taking pictures in low light. As expected, there is a chin down below with an all-round thicker than normal bezels. It also has has a dual SIM card slot with a dedicated microSD card for additional storage.
Camera Specs Review
We have just two cameras here. One at the back and one upfront in the waterdrop notch for selfies. The rear-facing camera is a single 8MP shooter accompanied by a dual-LED flash while the one at the front is a single 5MP shooter also with an LED flash of its own for low light photography/selfies. The front-facing camera can also be used for Face unlock also known as FaceID.
Hardware and Software
Under the hood, lies the Mediatek Helio A22 Chipset. An SoC based on the 12nm process technology. It has a Quad-core processor clocked at 2.0GHz paired with a PowerVR GPU for both games and graphics.
It comes with two memory options which include 1GB or 2GB of RAM, both of which has 16GB of internal storage, which can be upgraded via the dedicated microSD card slot onboard.
TECNO Spark Go runs TECNO’s own HiOS which is based on the latest Android 9.0 Pie out of the box, not the toned down Go Edition as the name implies.
Battery and Connectivity
Tecno Spark Go has a 3,000mAh battery capacity with no mention of charging. It does, however, have 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, GPS, a 3.5mm jack and a microUSB port for charging and file transfer. Also, there is no fingerprint sensor so your only form of biometric unlock is the face unlock
TECNO Spark Go Price and Availability
Tecno Spark Go is rumoured to go for N30,000 when it officially hits the shelves but we will know for sure when it does.
