It is no longer news about Huawei legal battle with the American government and their plans to release an in-house operating system. Less than a week to the official unveiling event (June 2) of Huawei’s HarmonyOS, there is an alleged list of devices that will be moving over to the platform first.
Huawei plans to have over 300 million devices running on the operating system by the end of 2021. The June 2 event is expected to see the release of the Huawei MatePad Pro 2 and the Huawei Watch 3, both devices will be among the first to run on the HarmonyOS out of the box.
According to an unconfirmed industry source, the first set of existing devices that will be migrating from Android OS to HarmonyOS are the Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro+, Mate 40 RS, Mate X2, Nova 8, Nova 8 pro and MatePad Pro. The source also noted that many devices in offline stores have already migrated to HarmonyOS.
The HarmonyOS got fans asking plenty of questions, hopefully, some of them will be answered on or after June 2 when the operating system goes live.
