Vivo launched a series of budget-friendly smartphones in 2018 as part of its effort to gain more market shares. One of those smartphones was the Vivo Y95 – which was first unveiled in Philippine before it later arrived in India. Most of the devices that the company introduced came from the Y series. But the Vivo Y95 have finally arrived Vivo home but with another name called “Vivo U1”. The device comes with a better spec and affordable price.
The Vivo U1 came with a 6.2 – inch screen with HD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch. And when you compare the device with the Y95, you will see that the device came with two more variants with 3GB RAM. The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 chipset. One of the things that differentiate the device from the Y95 is the 8MP sensor with an f/2.0 selfie camera which is tucked in the cutout.
At the back of the device, there is also a 13MP f/2.2 dual camera module and also a 2MP depth sensor with an f/2.4 aperture. The fingerprint scanner is also placed at the back. But if you want something that will wake the phone up, Vivo included a FaceWake which is the companies version of Face Unlock.
The device came with 4,030mAh battery with micro USB port. Also, it came with a 3.5mm audio jack and offer IP58 protection. Based on Android Oreo, the device runs on FunTouch 4.5OS.
The 3/32GB variant of the Vivo U1 will be sold for CYN799. The 3/64GB variant will be sold for CYN999. The device comes with three colours – Aurora Blue, Aurora Red and Starry Night Black. You can get the phone in Vivo’s online store but shipping starts from February 26.
