Vivo has launched its latest mid-range smartphone in China – Vivo Z5. The device is quite similar to the Vivo Z5x released sometime in May this year.
The Vivo Z5 features a 6.38 inches Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. Unlike the Vivo Z5x that features a punch-hole display, the Vivo Z5 comes with a waterdrop notch display with the fingerprint reader underneath its display. The device weighs 187 grams and measures 159.53 x 75.23 x 8.13 mm in dimensions.
Powering the device is Snapdragon 712 SoC with either 6 or 8 GB RAM. Storage options available for the device is 64, 128 and 256 GB. The Vivo Z5 runs on Android 9 Pie slapped with Funtouch OS 9.1 custom skin.
The waterdrop notch is home to a 32MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture. While at the main camera, we have a triple camera setup. The camera packs a 48MP f/1.8 primary sensor, an 8MP f/2.0 wide-angle sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a 4500 mAh battery capacity on this device with 22.5W fast battery charging.
The Vivo Z5 is only available in China through the company official online store. And there is no word yet if or when the phone will enter the global market. You get to choose from Aurora Illusion, Holographic Illusion and Bamboo Forest Night body colours. The 6/64GB version retails at CNY1,598/$230, the 6/128GB version at CNY1,898/$275, the 6/256GB version at CNY1,998/$290 and the 8/128GB version at CNY2,298/$330.
