WhatsApp is planning to increase the maximum size of its groups from the current 512 users to 1,024 users.
The company has been testing the feature for several months, according to WABetaInfo, which tracks changes to WhatsApp.
Group chats are an integral part of WhatsApp. You can use them for everything from organizing events and sharing photos to chatting with friends and family around the world. But until now there’s been a limit on how many people you can add to a group chat — 256 at most. This can be problematic if you’re trying to organize something with lots of people involved.
WhatsApp has not announced when this feature will roll out globally yet but it is likely that we’ll see it soon because it has been tested for quite some time now by beta testers around the world.
