Chinese tech giant Xiaomi is a top player in the wearable industry. Today, the company launched its two new gadgets (Mi Smart Band 5 and Mi TWS Earphones Basic) in the global market.
Mi TWS Earphones Basic
This is a Bluetooth headset that features 14.2 mm dynamic diaphragms, noise cancellation for calls using an extra pair of mics and supports the AAC audio codec which is responsible for high-quality wireless audio.
The battery life of the headset is 5 hours on a single charge, after which you’ll need to drop them in the case to charge up. The total battery life of both the case and buds is 20 hours. Charging of the case is via USB-C, which will be convenient to most people.
The Mi TWS Earphones Basic pairs easily with a Xiaomi which is totally expected. The earphone’s standard price tag is €40 with the first set of buyers getting it at a discounted €30.
Mi Smart Band 5
This smart band features a 1.1″ display and supports widgets which allows you to customise every indicator on the home screen. According to the company, the heart rate monitor is 50% more accurate compared to the previous version. Surprisingly, the wearable still lacks a SpO2 sensor.
Sadly, there is no NFC on this global version. The charging cable can now be attached to the smartwatch without removing from its wrist band. Speaking of the wrist band, the gadget will launch with 6 different silicone wrist bands.
Battery life is rated at 14 days just like its predecessor. The sleep tracking has been upgraded, it can now track your naps and detect REM sleep. There is a new feature for Female health tracking.
Just like the Mi TWS Earphones Basic, the Mi Smart Band 5 will retail at €40. The first buyers will get an early bird price tag of €35 instead.
