The Mi 5s is a more improved version of the Mi 5, offering more battery capacity and a faster smartphone experience. Xiaomi introduced the device last year, but people are still buying the machine. In this review, I will be focusing on the Xiaomi Mi 5s, as we analyze the features together.
Xiaomi Mi 5s DESIGN
Seeing the device in some colours with the antenna lines, it sure gives off an iPhone vibe. A stunning device, Xiaomi really went all out on the design of the Mi 5s, switching the rear camera to where the LED Flash was in the previous version. The device was designed mainly with aluminium, with front glass.
Weighing 145g and measuring 8.3mm slim, the Mi 5s is a little bit too bulky. But notwithstanding, the smartphone is undeniably gorgeous and available in Silver, Gray, Gold and Rose Gold colours. The fingerprint sensor doubles with the physical home button below the screen.
Xiaomi Mi 5s DISPLAY
Mi 5s boasts of a 5.15-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels screen resolution. The screen to body ratio on the Mi 5s was decreased compared to its predecessor, but the display is still quite impressive.
With a 16:9 aspect ratio, 428 ppi density, the vivid display is going to be lit. Watch all your movies and play all your games like it’s in real life.

Under the hood is a powerful Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 821 chipset clocking at Quad-core 2.15 GHz Kryo processor. The smooth and effortless smartphone has an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit.
In terms of storage, Xiaomi created two versions, one with 128GB internal storage and 4GB RAM. While a cheaper variant comes with 64GB internal storage and 3GB RAM. You have to choose wisely because there’s no microSD slot to expand the storage space. Xiaomi Mi 5s runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0 Operating System.
