Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 has been introduced by the company as its latest tablet and an upgrade to the Mi Pad 3. This is coming after tablet sales really declined in the past year, with Smartphones being equipped with 6.5-inch or more.
However, Xiaomi kept to its tradition by releasing the Mi Pad 4, an affordable tablet that packs a bunch. It’s also the first tablet to house the Snapdragon 660 chipset. Let’s see what the device has to offer.

Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 Design
It as an all-metal body and this reflects light in the most subtle way. The only real feature is the camera, which can be seen at the top left corner, while the Mi logo is at the bottom. There’s a 3.5mm jack on top and a USB Type-C port underneath.
When you turn to the sides, you’ll see the volume keys and power button on one side and a SIM tray on the other side. It measures 7.9mm in thickness and weighs 342.5g overall. It will be available in Black and Rose Gold colours.

Hardware and Software
This is the first tablet to house the Snapdragon 660 chip from Qualcomm. It was built on a 14nm process technology, so power efficiency should be great. There’s an octa-core processor that reaches the normal speed of 2.2GHz underneath as well. While the Adreno 512 graphics card dominates graphics.
In terms of storage and RAM, you get to choose between two variants. There’s the standard version with 64GB storage and 4GB RAM, while the cheaper variant has 32GB storage and 3GB RAM. Overall, it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9.0.

It comes with a 13MP rear camera with no LED flash. However, the camera has f/2.0 aperture lens, this should allow more lights in even in dark places. There’s another 5MP selfie camera that has f/2.0 aperture as well.
Network Connectivity, Battery and Price
The Mi Pad 4 supports for 4G LTE, although there’s a cheaper variant that doesn’t support it. The device can only accommodate a single Nano SIM, with support for Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 6000mAh battery with fast charging technology. Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 is available on shopping stores, starting from $169 to $249, that’s about (N60,000 – N85,000).
