Xiaomi Teams up With Leica to Debut a Smartphone Together In July

Xiaomi has partnered with Leica on the development of a new smartphone, which will be available in a few months.

The Chinese corporation acknowledged its “long-term strategic engagement” with Leica and stated that they’ve been co-developing a flagship device that will be officially unveiled in July of this year.

After Sharp, Huawei, and Panasonic, this is the fourth manufacturer with which Leica has partnered on mobile imaging. Xiaomi, on the other hand, has not announced anything about the next flagship smartphone.

Given that the phone will be released in a few months, it is likely to be powered by the recently revealed Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset.

Xiaomi seems to be following the footsteps of other Chinese brands by including a distinctive feature on its flagship or premium smartphone to set it apart from competing rivals.

Huawei started the trend in 2016 when it teamed with Leica for the photography features on its flagship smartphones. OnePlus and OPPO have also collaborated with Hasselblad, while Vivo has collaborated with Zeiss.

While Xiaomi has not confirmed anything, the forthcoming smartphone is most likely the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, and if rumours are to be believed, the smartphone appears to be filled with features when compared to other high-end smartphones.
