If you like Tik Tok, here’s some good news: you can now upload long videos because the company has rolled out a cool feature that allows users to upload videos up to 10 minutes long.
Notably, this is the second significant change since TikTok videos were extended from one to three minutes in July 2021. This shift had occurred as the social media platform experienced meteoric growth around the world. Now, the company is increasing the total length of its videos to up to 10 minutes, as the platform shows no signs of slowing down, and this change will likely help creators upload more diverse content as well.
TikTok confirmed the global update in a statement to The Verge.
Today, we’re excited to start rolling out the ability to upload videos that are up to 10 minutes, which we hope would unleash even more creative possibilities for our creators around the world.
Content creators will be able to post longer videos for cooking tips, make-up tutorials, educational material, comedy, dance, and more as a result of this change. TikTok users who are running the most recent app version will be notified when they can upload 10-minute-long videos.
