Few weeks after unveiling the Z17s and Z17 MiniS, Chinese mobile phone maker, ZTE has announced their new foldable smartphone, ZTE Axon M. The most interesting time is here guys, we are now in the foldable smartphone era. Design
With a unique look, the ZTE Axon M is such a masterpiece. When you think of a flip phone, I’m certain you won’t think of the Axon M. But it is a modern-day flip phone with a dual screen connected with a hinge.
The hinge enables the back screen to flip forward, so you can operate the two screens at once instead of turning the smartphone around. Due to the flip feature, the Axon M is not a slim smartphone but a boxy one with 150.9 x 71.6 x 12.2 mm dimensions.
Display
The ZTE Axon M has two 5.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, with just 68.3% screen-to-body ratio. When you activate the Mirror Mode feature and combine the screens, you will get a stunning 6.75-inch tablet-like display. This Mode enables you to watch your favourite shows or play games on a larger screen. Cool right?
But if you don’t like tablets just like me, you can leave the second screen folded back against the device, so you can use the Axon M like any other smartphone. It sports a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on each display. Although you might want to be careful when putting the smartphone down, so as to prevent scratches to the back, which is a screen.
Hardware and Software
The ZTE Axon M is powered by last year’s Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor, Quad-core (2×2.15 GHz Kryo & 2×1.6 GHz Kryo) and 4GB of RAM. You can store as many files as you want in its 64GB storage which is upgradeable to 256GB. It runs smoothly on Android 7.1.2 Nougat operating system.
Camera
Bad news first! The Axon M doesn’t have a selfie shooter. You can only use its powerful 20MP camera which has autofocus, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama.
Battery
The ZTE Axon M is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 3180 mAh battery. With Quick Charge™ 3.0.
