ZTE MAX XL Review
The ZTE MAX XL is an update to last year MAX Pro, offering better battery life and much value to your money. Yes, for just $129 (N47,000) the MAX XL proves that you can get a lot of features on a smartphone with so very little money. Its a perfect smartphone for basic users.
Design
The ZTE MAX XL doesn’t look like a budget smartphone, it has the modern features like USB-C charging port for fast charging and 3.5 headphone jack. The fingerprint scanner is also located at the back of the camera for faster access to your world.
Display
It sports a 6.0-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 1080 x 1920 pixels and a disappointing 367 pixel per inch. The display on the ZTE MAX XL is quite dim outdoors due to its low pixel per inch for a 6.0″ device.
Hardware and Software
It houses the Qualcomm MSM8940 Snapdragon 435 chipset, 1.4GHz octa-core Processor and 2GB of RAM. Which is perfect for a budget phone, that lets you run the most demanding apps. There are two versions in terms of internal storage, 16GB and 32GB. Of course, the one with 32GB will be more expensive. The operating system on the MAX XL is the Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
Camera
The MAX XL houses a 13MP autofocus camera with geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama. You can record videos with 1080p at 30fps. There’s also a 5MP selfie snapper at the front, for your selfies.
Battery
The ZTE MAX XL is powered by a Li-Ion 3990 mAh battery. Which can be boosted up with fast battery charging (2.0).
