6 new things on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus is obviously here to stay. Many have queued up to purchase the phone, a thousand orders are still rolling in. Here are the 6 new things present on the new iPhones.

The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus

#New design: It is a familiar iPhone to the 6 and 6S, same shape, same dimension, same weight, same feel on the hand, but with a subtle improvements like the internal bands on the back don’t go across anymore, so there is a cleaner look at the bottom. There are also new sets of colours including a Jet Black and Black colour. The Jet Black has a pioneer glossy feeling that I don’t think I cam recommend to anyone. It only looks good when kept clean and like we said in the previous article, Apple advised that we used a pouch especially because it is prone to fingerprint stains as well as scratches.

#The home button: The new home button on the iPhone is actually similar to the force touch in the new Mac books. It doesn’t actually click anymore. It is a solid state glass button with pressure sensitivity that doesn’t move.

#Water and dust resistant: It is rated to be able to survive being under 50 m of water; which is actually a lot.

#The new camera(s) on the back: It has a new 12MP camera with f/1.8 aperture, optical image stabilization on both phones, and a couple things like the new image processing chip, quad LED flash and raw image capture. It has a 7MP front facing camera which is a worthy upgrade from their previous devices. The real camera upgrade is on the iPhone 7 plus which has two new 12MP cameras with different lenses in each. On the right is the normal 28mm lens and on the left is a 56mm lens. It gives you twice the focal distance for two times optical zoom.

#Lightning earpods: Every iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will ship with the lighting earpods because there is no headphone jack.

#Wireless earpods: It will cost $160 and we can only hope it won’t fall out. They come in a battery case that charges them. By flipping open the top of the case, the phone finds it and immediately connects. There is also a touch sensitive pad so you can double to activate Siri and talk to her with the microphone, so it is more than just an earpod without the wire, but for the price, I’ll pass.

That’s pretty much it for what’s  new on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus. My favourite upgrade is the camera on the iPhone 7 Plus and on the flip side, my biggest let down is the screen. When will Apple ever put an OLED display on the phone. #sigh
