iPhone 15 Series USB C Port Images Leak

Apple is expected to switch to a USB C Charging port starting with the iPhone 15 series. In a recent leak, we first looked at the port attached to flexible PCB assemblies. @lipilipsi shared the images on Twitter, showing the connector for the iPhone 15 Pro Max, 15 Plus, and iPhone 15.

According to rumors over the last few months, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are expected to have USB 2.0 standard connectors with 480 Mbps data transfer speeds and 20 watts fast charging speed. This is the same as the lightning port. The iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are getting USB 3.2 connectors which will be the first upgrade in terms of speed boost on iPhones since 2012.

There are also reports that Apple might limit data transfer and charging speeds on the USB C cables and accessories that are part of its Made for iPhone program. The Keynote for the iPhone 15 series is expected to hold on the 13th of September, 2023.

More iPhone 15 USB C Rumors

Another rumor that has been making rounds is that the USB C port of the iPhone 15 series will be a proprietary charging port and will only work with the iPhones. Your Existing USB C charging cables won’t work with the new iPhones, which doesn’t make sense and contradict Apple’s statement on reducing the excess e-waste in the world. We have our fingers crossed and hope to see what the iPhone 15 will bring on board.
