ALCATEL 1X 2019 Full Specifications Review

The Alcatel 1x 2019 was released not long ago at the on-going CES in Las Vegas. The new device is a successor to the previous Alcatel 1x which was released last year and this year’s model is bumped up a few things while still managing to impressively keep the price on the low side. Let’s get into the details.

ALCATEL 1X 2019 Design And Display

Alcatel 1X 2019 uses a pebble-painted material for its design which makes it comfortable to hold thanks to its easy-grip texture. Also, the body is also is fingerprint stain resistance. There is no water resistant here. Dual rear cameras are located at the top centre with the LED flash just underneath. The fingerprint sensor is nowhere to be found on this device; both at the front and back, However, if you get the 5008T Variant, that has a rear facing fingerprint sensor.

Moving to the front, we have a 5.5-inch 720 IPS display with a 292ppi which is covered by a 2.5D glass. Aspect screen to Body ratio stands at 18:9 and 83% respectively. At the top bezel is the front-facing camera with yet another LED. This device weighs just 130 grams, measures 8.3mm in thickness comes in just two pebble colour options; Pebble Blue and Pebble Black.

ALCATEL 1X 2019 Camera Review

At the back of the Alcatel, 1x 2019 are two cameras, up from the one camera on its predecessor. The rear camera here comprises of a main 13MP(interpolated to 16MP) camera with f/2.0 aperture accompanied by a secondary 2MP depth sensor camera with f/2.4 aperture equipped with an LED flash for those low light shots. Features of the camera include Burst shots, HDR, Panorama, Night Mode, Video stabilisation (EIS), Light, Trace, Real-time photo and video filters among others. 1080p video recording is possible but at a maximum of 30fps.

The front-facing shooter is a single 5MP(Interpolated to 8MP) camera with f/2.4 aperture. It also had an LED flash. Features of the selfie camera are a social mode, face beautification, real-time photo and video filters. The front-facing camera is capable of recording videos at 720p resolution at 30fps.

ALCATEL 1X 2019 Hardware and Software

The Alcatel 1x 2019 is rocking MediaTek’s Mediatek MT6739 Chipset like it’s predecessor which is a Quad-Core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, paired with a PowerVR GE8100 GPU. For multitasking, it has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded further, up to 128GB via a MicroSD card. This device runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Battery & Network Connectivity

The battery also remained the same with a 3,000mAh battery capacity here. No fast charging of course. It does have 4G LTE, VoLTE, VoWi-Fi, WiFi, WiFi direct, WiFi hotspot, Bluetooth, GPS, a USB Port and the good old 3.5mm jack for wired headphones.

Starting price for this device is about $149 which is approximately N50,000 and is set to arrive within the first quarter of 2019, to North America, Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa.
