For the first time in Apple’s history, it has announced a “Pro” version of its smartphone. The newly launched iPhone 11 comes with not just one but two Pro versions – iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max.
Both pro version smartphones come with Super Retina XDR display, which is basically an OLED panel with a peak reach of 1,200 nits brightness. The display measures 5.8-inch on the iPhone 11 Pro and 6.5-inch on the iPhone 11 Pro Max. The display features both Dolby Vision and HDR10.
Camera specs are the same on the iPhone duo, a triple rear camera features 12MP sensors. The first two sensors are similar to what you have on the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.
The main sensor featuring f/1.8 aperture, OIS [optical image stabilization] and Dual Pixel AF. The telephoto sensor instead of an f/2.4 aperture now comes with a brighter f/2.0 aperture with 2x optical zoom, OIS and Dual Pixel AF. Then we have a third new ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.4 aperture.
Powering the iPhone duo is the A13 Bionic chipset built on 7nm manufacturing process technology. The chip is said to be much faster in performance for both CPU and GPU compared to the A12 Bionic.
This also leads to improved battery life for the devices. According to Apple, the iPhone 11 Pro offers up to 4 hours more of battery life in a day than what you get on the iPhone XS. While the iPhone 11 Pro Max offers up to 5 hours more than compared to the iPhone XS Max.
The A13 Bionic is built with a faster Neural Engine for real-time video and photo analysis. The Neural Engine has 8 cores that are 20% faster and 15% efficient compared to its predecessor. The base storage for both iPhones is 64GB, 256GB and 512GB.
Both iPhones will be available in Space Gray, Silver, Gold and Midnight Green body colours. The iPhone 11 Pro starting price is $999/N362,137 while the iPhone 11 Pro Max is $1,099/N398,387. Pre-order starts September 5 and shipping starts September 20.
