Asus just released two new devices which are the Zenfone Max (M2) and the Zenfone Max Pro (M2). The latter being a successor to the Zenfone Max Pro (M1) released earlier this year while the other can be said to be a lite version of its sibling. Here, we will be looking at the Zenfone Max (M2)’s specification and features to find out what it has to offer.

Asus Zenfone Max M2 Design And Display

The design of the Asus Zenfone Max M2 is nothing out of the ordinary with the dual antenna lines and the dual camera setup. The fingerprint sensor sits comfortably at it usual spot with the Asus logo underneath. The device features a 6.3-inch notched display with a 720p screen resolution (267ppi), 19:9 aspect ratio and an impressive 82% screen to body ratio.

The U shaped notch holds the single front-facing camera, the speaker grill and other necessities. The colour options available for now are Black and Gold. The device weighs 160 grams, measures 7.7mm and has a total of 3 slots; Two SIM slots and one dedicated MicroSD card slot for storage expansion.

At the rear is a 13MP main shooter with phase detection autofocus and a secondary 2MP depth sensor camera. The camera which is able to record 1080p videos at 30fps includes features like HDR, Panorama and an LED flash for low light photography. For selfies, there is a single 8MP camera with no flash.

At the heart of this device lies the Snapdragon 632 chipset with an octa-core processor, clocking speeds of up 1.8GHz alongside an Adreno 506 GPU for gaming/graphics. There is only one variant available which is the one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which is expandable via the dedicated MicroSD card slot. Unfortunately, this device still runs on the not so recent Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Battery & Network Connectivity

Powering the Asus Zenfone Max M2 is a 4,000mAh battery. Other features and connectivities of this device includes 4G LTE, WiFi, WiFi direct, WiFi hotspot and Bluetooth v4.2 with support for A2DP and LE. There is no NFC. However, there is GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS and BDS. A Micro USB 2.0 port is also present for charging and transferring of files and also features USB On The Go.
