Asus Zenfone Max Shot and Max Plus M2 Launched

Qualcomm recently announced that they would be partnering with Universal Scientific Industrial (USI) in other to set up a new semiconductor plant in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Barely a few weeks after the announcement, two smartphones have been seen online. They run on the system – in – package (SiP) processors. ASUS Brazil has released two new flagships which came with the Qualcomm Snapdragon SiP 1. The two phones are known as the Zenfone Max Shot and Zenfone Max Plus M2.

The two phones look almost the same. There will be an extra 8MP wide-angle camera on the back of the Max Shot. And there will be a flash sensor in the same spot in the Max Plus M2. Both phones will come with 6.26 -inches FHD+ notched IPS panels.

There will be a single 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage in the Max Plus M2. People buying the  Max Shot will have the option of choosing between 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB internal storage. Both phones came with dual sim capabilities. Also, there is a separate microSD slot in both phones for people that want to expand the memory.

This latest Qualcomm SiP 1 processor is the highest in the ASUS lineup. With this new chip, all major components can be fixed in a single circuit which will be transferred to the motherboard. It will now allow for extra space for other components. This makes it entirely different from the older system on chip (SoC). With the new chip, there will now be space for innovative designs. Even the 14nm chipset looks almost the same with the SD450 with its 1.8GHz octa-core CPU and Adreno 506 GPU.

As for the camera, the Max Shot comes with a 12MP main camera, 8MP wide-angle and 5MP depth sensor camera setup. But the Max Plus M2 still retains the 12MP regular + 5MP depth sensor. Both phones came with 8MP front camera with LED flash. Both phones came with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box. The company promised that there will be pie update in the coming months. The battery capacity is 4,000mAh.

The price of the Zenfone Max Shot starts at BRL 1,349 ($350) and might go as high as BRL 1,699 ($445). The Zenfone Max Plus M2 goes for BRL 1,299 ($340). The phones came in four colour variant’s – black, blue, silver, red. Buyers can get the phones today in the Asus Brazil website.
