Black Shark 2 unveiled with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset

We have finally seen the much-anticipated Black Shark 2. The device came with so many improvements over the first Black Shark. Most especially on the screen and performance. We are also seeing a new mode which the company called the Ludicrous Mode.

The device came with a 6.39 – inches screen from Samsung. And there is also an improvement in the input latency. It has been reduced to 43.5ms for better optimization. That’s very nice for a touch screen device. Also, you can now map buttons to the left and right side of the screen. This is made possible by its pressure sensitive magic press. And these can be triggered by pressing harder on the screen. Although you can tune down the force required to a comfortable level.

The company also worked on the quality of the device. The 1080p+ screen covers the DCI – P3 colour space with ∆E < 1 and it is HDR – enabled. The company also included four different ambient light colour sensors so as to make sure that the colours stay accurate. The colour sensors will assist a dedicated image sensor to access your environment. This will help to adjust the screen according to your environment.

The new Black Shark 2 comes with two front-facing stereo speakers. It means that the phone can be held horizontally without blocking the speakers. The X – shaped antenna setup moves this over and helps to create a wonderful reception regarding on how you hold the device.

Also, you can always use the in-display fingerprint reader even if you strap on an accessor on the back (you can see a lot of them). The device is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset and it comes with 6/8GB RAM and 128/256GB internal storage. It comes with a 4,000mAh battery capacity with support for 27W fast charging.

Also, to make sure that everything is working properly – from the CPU/GPU, the network and even charging speed. The ludicrous mode that we mentioned earlier eases off the temperature throttling and Al makes sure that everything is running optimally.

Looking at the camera, we can see a dual camera at the back. The main module comes with a 48MP Quad Bayer sensor with 0.8µm pixels and an f/1.75 aperture. The secondary camera comes with a 2x telephoto lens and a 12MP sensor (1.0µm pixels). The device comes with a 20MP Shooter selfie camera (f/2.0, 0.9µm).

The price of the device starts at CYN 3,200 for the 6/128GB variant and CYN 4,200 for the 12/256GB variant. The two variants come with LPDDR4x RAM and UFS 2.1 storage. The company also revealed that a new frozen silver colour version is available. But it is only available in the 8/258GB model.
