Oppo has finally launched the Oppo A5s. The newly launched device is the sibling of the widely known Oppo A5(but in some regions, both phones is known as the AX5 and AX5s). In summary, the changes in the phone come in two words “Helio P35”. The Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset powers the A(X) variants.
Even though both chipsets came with Cortex – A53 CPU, the Helio SoC will run at higher clock speed. There are also some changes in the GPUs. We are looking at a PowerVR GE8320 which is still the same one on the Helio P22.
The Oppo A5s comes with 6.2 – inches IPS screen with 720 x 1520-pixel resolution. It came with a smaller notch – a teardrop design with 8MP selfie camera. The rear dual camera is 13 + 2MP.
Even though we saw a change in the chipset. It did not affect the OS. It still runs on the Android 8.1 Oreo styled into colour OS 5.2. It still has the same memory configuration as the sibling with the base model having 3GB RAM and 64GB internal storage. Battery capacity still remains the same 4,230mAh.
Another change that we saw is in the colour. The new Oppo A5s came with new colours – Black and Red instead of the blue and pink that the sibling had. For now, no official information concerning the price of the device.
