Bluboo D5 Pro was launched some weeks ago and is now available online for purchase. The device looks like a clone of the Mix series from Chinese OEMs, just like the Mi Mix 2. However, the D5 Pro is more affordable than others.
That doesn’t mean the device isn’t powerful, it has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space as well. It also sports a tri-bezel-less display which brings the selfie camera to the bottom bezel. Lets find out more.

Design and Display
The D5 Pro looks as elegant as most Mix smartphones from other Chinese brands. It has a Metal frame which promises a smooth and premium handling. It’s ultra slim body is very creative and pleasing to the eye.
There’s a fingerprint scanner at the rear which unlocks the device in just 0.1 seconds. While the rear camera and LED flash are on top of it, the device measures 8.8 mm in thickness and weighs 150g overall. You can get it in Black, Red and Blue colours.
The tall screen stretched all the way to the top, leaving no room for a notch or the usual features at the top. Obviously, the selfie camera has been brought down to the bottom bezel, which is really thick and gives off a Mix vibe.
This 5.5-inch IPS JDI capacitive touchscreen should bring out your movies and games very well. It has a 1280 x 640 pixels in resolution and 260 pixels per inch density for clear visuals. Even though the bottom bezel is somewhat thick, the screen got up to 74.8% screen to body ratio.
Hardware and Software
Running the race here is the MediaTek MT6737 chip which was built on a 28nm process technology. It has 4-cores of processor that clocks at a smooth speed of 1.3GHz, while the ARM Mali-T720 MP2 graphics processor clocks at 550MHz.
Although you get 3GB of RAM for smooth multitasking, the memory speed isn’t quite encouraging as it reaches just 640MHz. You also get 32GB storage space to store files and upgrade up to 256GB at will. The D5 Pro runs on Android 7.0 Nougat.
Camera
The 13MP rear camera on this device shouldn’t be underestimated, it comes with Omnivision and other features with a dual-LED flash sitting beside it as well. There’s an 8MP selfie camera at the bottom bezel.
Battery and Connectivity
The D5 Pro supports 4G LTE and accommodates dual Nano SIM, it also has support for Bluetooth 4.2, 3.5mm jack, USB port, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Hotspot and A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS.
The Bluboo D5 Pro is powered by a non-removable Li-Po 2700mAh battery with no fast charging technology. Bluboo D5 Pro is available on shopping stores, starting from $119 to $139, that’s about (N40,000 – N50,000).
