Doogee Y8 Phone Specifications and Price

Doogee Y8 is the newest addition to the Y series which arrived alongside the Y8C and Y8 Plus. Doogee Y8 comes with some pretty decent specifications for its price. With a starting price of less than $100, it has a 6.1-inch display, a Quad-Core processor, 3GB of RAM, a dual camera setup, 3,400mAh of battery capacity and runs the latest operating system out of the box which is Android 9.0 Pie.

Design And Display

Doogee Y8 has a 6.1-inch IPS display with a screen resolution of 600 x 1280 pixels, pixel per inch density of 232 and aspect ratio of 19:9, with the notch at the top of course which houses the single front-facing camera that can be used for Face Unlock. The small chin at the bottom has the Doogee name written on it. The Doogee name appears again underneath the fingerprint sensor at the back while the dual camera setup takes up a vertical position at the top left side of the device’s back, with a dual-LED flash in the middle. The device’s body is made up of polycarbonate materials with three different colours options; Emerald Green, Midnight Black and Phantom Purple. It weighs 150 grams and measures 9mm in thickness.

Camera Review

Doogee Y8 has a total of 3 cameras; two at the back and one up front. The one at the front is an 8MP wide-angle camera with f/2.2 aperture. At the rear is a combination of an 8MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture with a secondary 5MP camera. The rear camera is equipped with a dual-LED flash for low light shots.

Hardware and Software

Mediatek’s MT6739 SoC – a 28nm Chipset – powers this device with 4-cores clocking speeds of up to 1.5GHz paired with a PowerVR GE8100 GPU for gaming. It also has 3GB of RAM for efficient multitasking and a rather small 16GB of internal storage. However, the storage can be expanded further via the onboard dedicated MicroSD Card slot, up to 128GB. It also has a dual Nano SIM slot so there is that. The doogee Y8 runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box with Doogee UI on top.
