Elephone just revealed their flagship device S9, which is the successor to the S8. The new device also sports a bezel-less look just like its predecessor, which was released in September this year. The company had no chill as they have to quickly jump on the trending dual rear camera before the year runs out. Honestly, I was expecting the S9 to launch around March 2019, same time with the Samsung Galaxy S9. But Elephone sure knows how to surprise their fans.

Elephone S9 DESIGN

Elephone smartphone always melts my heart, the S9 is as stunning as gold. Designed mainly with Aluminium Alloy and Glass Mix Body, and reflects light in the most elegant way.

The Elephone S9 is very beautiful device and available in Red, Golden, Black, Granny Hair and Blue colours. It has the same curved look like the Samsung Galaxy S8, with glass protection at the back and front. The fingerprint scanner was strategically mounted at the back, below the horizontal dual rear camera.

DISPLAY

It sports the same bezel-less display like its predecessor, but this time with curved edges. The 6-inch AMOLED QHD display with 2560 x 1440 Pixels screen resolution on the S9 should be a delight to watch. The pixel density on the Elephone S9 is as high as 489.53ppi, bringing out the details displaying on the screen. Elephone really means business in their bezel-less domination, as they achieved 81% screen to body ratio on the S9.

HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE

Under the hood, this beauty of a device boasts of Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 with 64-bit Processor clocking at 2.2GHz Kryo Octa-core. The graphics processing unit is a Qualcomm Adreno 512, then for multitasking, it has 6GB of RAM.

You can store lots of files on this smartphone, in its massive 128GB internal storage space. Elephone also said a 64GB internal storage version is available at a cheaper price. You can expand the storage space if it isn’t enough, up to 256GB using MicroSD. Elephone S9 comes with Android 8.0 Oreo OS.

CAMERA

Yay! Elephone “S” series now sports the trending dual rear camera. Y’all already know how obsessed I am with a dual rear camera, and I’m so excited Elephone came through. The 16MP + 16MP rear shooter on the S9 is every photographer’s dream. The lens is a f/1.8 aperture, which captures 4K resolution images. Videos are recorded at 2160p@30fps and 1080p@60fps. Features on the cameras include Laser Autofocus, Continuous shooting, Digital image stabilization, Slow Motion Video Recording, Digital zoom, Exposure compensation, Face detection, Geotagging, HDR, ISO settings, Macro Mode, Panorama, Scene mode, Self-timer, Touch focus, White balance settings and 4K Video recording.

At the front there’s a 13MP selfie camera with Aperture f/2.0, taking care of all your selfie needs from all angle.

The Elephone S9 is powered by a 4000mAh Non-removable battery, with fast battery charging feature. The battery percentage on the device can go from 0% – 100% in just 1.7 hours.

Elephone S9 is available for $299, that’s about N110,000 – N130,000.
