Gionee Steel 3 Review
Gionee Steel 3 is another affordable premium looking smartphone from Gionee. The Steel 3 is one of a kind, featuring an all-metal design too just like the Gionee F205. If you remember the Gionee Steel 2 launched last year, then this is the successor and second attempt by Gionee to create a great smartphone with a good camera and battery life.
Gionee Steel 3 DESIGN
Covered in metal, this premium looking device looks more expensive than it actually is. Available in only Gold, because no other colour can portray the details on this masterpiece. The rear metal finish has a two-texture design, the smooth upper part where the rear camera is situated.
Then the smooth lower part where the loudspeaker (AAC 1511) is placed, the middle part has a rough shining finish. Gionee Steel 3 is quite bulky, measuring 8.5mm slim and weighing 170g.
Gionee Steel 3 DISPLAY
Steel 3 sports a 5.5-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. There are little to no bezels on both sides, but there are annoying huge bezels on the upper and lower part of the screen. The display boasts of 720 x 1440 pixels screen resolution and 293 ppi density.
We have to give it to Gionee, they really mean business in the FullView market. They achieved a 77% screen to body ratio on the Steel 3. They also ditched the physical home button, but does it have a fingerprint scanner? Yes, it does, on the screen!

A sleek and powerful smartphone, Gionee Steel 3 houses the Snapdragon 425 chipset which clocks at 1.4GHz Octa-core. For multitasking and app launching, there’s a 3GB RAM powerhouse.
To store your favourite files, there’s a 32GB storage space, which of course is expandable to 256GB. Gionee Steel 3 runs on 7.1 Nougat OS.
Gionee Steel 3 CAMERA
The device sports 8MP rear camera for all your photography needs, with features like Digital Zoom, Auto Flash, Face detection and Touch to focus. The rear camera takes 3264 x 2448 Pixels photographs, it can’t capture 4K resolution images.
But the 8MP selfie shooter at the front is quite catchy. It takes beautiful selfies, beautifying your face every single time.
