Google Bard: Everything you Need to Know

Google Bard – AI chatbots are currently the most significant thing in tech and look like the future of search engines. Microsoft invested $10 billion in OpenAI, the startup behind chatGPT. Microsoft also announced a few days ago that they are integrating ChatGPT into Bing and Edge, the search engine and browser owned by Microsoft.

Bing has been left behind, with Google taking over 90% of traffic when it comes to web searches. Microsoft believes investing in ChatGPT and integrating it into its services will be a way to compete head-to-head with Google.

There have been rumors of Google working on a similar chatbot, and a few days ago, Google CEO Sundar Pichai introduced Bard. It will be integrated into Google products and search, and it’s available to trusted users at the time of writing. They plan to open it to the general public in the coming weeks.

Everything You Need to Know About Bard

Bard will provide instant answers from the web instead of you having to visit a website to find solutions. The answer it will provide will be straightforward to read. Let’s say you want to learn how to play a musical instrument. Bard can help you decide which will be easier to understand. Since multiple sites have already covered content around musical instruments, Bard will summarize them and provide the answer in a few readable paragraphs.

There have been questions regarding how much you can trust the answers provided by Bard. Someone noticed the error in the solution Bard provided in its demo video.

Bard is built on Google’s LaMDA, which stands for Language Mode for Dialog Applications. The Bard app is a lightweight version of LaMDA, requiring less computational power to provide answers. This is important when Google tries to scale Bard and have it answer questions from millions of users worldwide.

Google’s team and Testers worldwide will provide feedback to ensure Bard is accurate. This is to make sure your answers will be safe and grounded. Google will also use Bard in its products. In March, they will invite individual developers, creators, and enterprises to join and build things using the Generative Language API powered by LaMDA.

The Future of ChatBots

There will be a myriad of chatbots in the following months, affecting how we use the internet. Pichai also announced that there would be more AI-related announcements soon.

ChatGPT is a revolutionary tech, and everyone using it has attested to its good. Can Bard compete with ChatGPT since Google has more vital information in its system? It is yet to be known, but the future of the internet seems to be mind-blowing, and we can’t wait to see how it goes from here.
