Google Tensor vs Apple A15 Bionic

With the release of the Pixel 6, which is powered by “Tensor,” Google has joined the ranks of Samsung, Huawei, and Apple in using custom chips.

But, in comparison to Apple A15 Bionic, how good is the Google Tensor chipset? Let’s look at this comparison to see what we can find out

The Apple A15 Bionic chipset is currently the industry leader. The A15 Bionic and Google Tensor chipsets are developed on a 5-nanometer process, but Apple’s transistors is more advanced thanks to TSMC’s latest N5P system, which contributed in battery performance and higher speed.

The Apple A15 bionic’s 6-core CPU is faster because it uses a Hexa-core 2+4 CPU architecture, whereas Google Tensor uses an octa-core 2+2+4 CPU architecture.

The Google Tensor has a Google Custom ISP that can capture 50 MP images with no shutter lag and shoot HDR videos in 4K at 60 frames per second. The Apple A15 Bionic, on the other hand, has a new advanced ISP that works exceptionally well with Apple’s computational photography features. It can play 4K HDR Dolby Vision video at 60 frames per second.

The Samsung Exynos 5132 modem on the Tensor chip supports both mmWave and sub-6GHz 5G networks. It has download speeds of up to 7.3 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps. The Qualcomm X60 5G mode on the A15 Bionic, on the other hand, provides a maximum download speed of 7.5 Gbps and an upload speed of 3 Gbps.

Conclusion

The Apple A15 Bionic chipset outperforms the Google Tensor in terms of CPU performance. Google Tensor, on the other hand, has excellent computing capabilities and shows great promise.
