With the release of the OnePlus 7 series comes the hype and exception for the OnePlus 8 series. Even though the OnePlus 8th generation smartphone isn’t due to arrive until 2020, it doesn’t stop the leaks from coming out.
Onleaks and CaskKaro joined hands together to release the first renders for the OnePlus 8. The device looks very similar to the OnePlus 7 Pro. The paint job is different though. The OnePlus 7 Pro features a Nebula Blue colour with a blue gradient. While the OnePlus 8 render features the Glacier Blue colour like what we saw on the OnePlus 7T Pro.
The renders show a quad-camera setup on both the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. The fourth camera is most likely a 3D TOF camera. The OnePlus 8 display measures 6.5″ while that of the 8 Pro measures 6.65″. Both displays come with a punch-hole design and presumably a 20:9 aspect ratio.
Last month, OnePlus announced all of its smartphones moving forward will have a 90Hz refresh rate. So it’s safe to say the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will feature a 90hz refresh rate. Still, on the render report, the OnePlus 8 is 8.1mm thick while the OnePlus 8 Pro is 8.8mm thick.
Information relating to the specs and features of the OnePlus 8 series is scarce right now. It’s barely a month since we saw the company launch the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro. The OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro was released in May this year, every indication points to the OnePlus 8 series being released around May 2020. So we’ll get to know more about smartphones as we approach the beginning of 2020.
