Xiaomi to launch Redmi Note 8 in Nigeria

Earlier this year, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi made their long-anticipated entry into the Nigeria market with the Redmi Note 7.

The company is now set to launch the Redmi Note 8, which is the successor of the Note 7 in Nigeria. They made the announcement today on their Facebook Nigeria page.

According to the post, we should be expecting the mid-range device in a few days time.

The Redmi Note 8 comes with a polished and glossy design. It comes with the same display setup of the Note 7, a 6.3″ IPS LCD with 1080p resolution. The display is protected by version 5 of Corning Gorilla Glass.

The major highlight of this device is its quad rear camera setup. It features a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide sensor and two 2MP depth sensor and macro camera. This camera setup is capable of recording 4K videos at 30fps which is something the camera of the Note 7 couldn’t do. The selfie camera remains the same – 13MP with f/2.0 camera.

Inside the Redmi Note 8 is Snapdragon 665 SoC slapped with 4GB or 6GB RAM. No 3GB RAM option for the device. The storage option is 64GB and 128GB. It retains the 4,000 mAh battery with 18W fast charging seen on the Note 7.
