HomTom S99 has been trending on shopping stores for a while now. The S99 is the latest smartphone from HomTom, a Chinese smartphone manufacturer that designs value for money smartphones.

The S99 is generous in terms of specs, it has 4GB of RAM for multitasking, 64GB storage space, runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and powered by a massive 6200mAh battery capacity.

DESIGN

The S99 sports a unique looking body that is really attractive and stunning. It’s not the most attractive we have seen, but it’s really unique. The Plastic back was designed to offer a perfect grip when held.

It has curved edges as well, making it even sleeker. At the top middle, we can see the dual cameras in a vertical format, there’s a LED flash beside the cameras and a fingerprint scanner underneath.

DISPLAY

It’s the year of the full screen quite alright, the S99 has an 18:9 aspect ratio screen with no narrow bezels in sight. Even the top and bottom bezels have been reduced as well for a bigger screen.

You should see all your games and videos come out clearly on the 5.5-inch HD+ IPS LCD In-Cell capacitive touchscreen. It has a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels and 293 pixels per inch density as well with GFF Full Lamination Technology.

HARDWARE and SOFTWARE

HomTom adopted the MT6750T chip from MediaTek for the S99. This chip was built on a 28nm process technology and has 8-cores of processor that clocks at 1.5GHz. The ARM Mali-T860 MP2 clocks at 650MHz and comes with 4-cores.

Multitasking heavy apps shouldn’t be a problem with 4GB of RAM space available. This RAM space has a memory speed of 833MHz for smooth multitasking. While in the storage department, the 64GB storage space can be upgraded up to 256GB using a memory card. The smartphone runs on Android 8.0 Oreo.

CAMERA

At the rear, we can see it has dual 21MP + 2MP shooters from Sony. The second 2MP telephoto camera should bring portrait gimmicks to your photography. For selfies, the 13MP selfie camera has f/2.2 aperture and takes cute selfies.
