Huawei’s Sub-brand – Honor – has just added a new smartphone to its growing list of smartphones, or should I say add a new version of a previous smartphone. The Huawei 8A Pro as you might have already guessed is the Huawei 8A but with some new features, hence the “Pro” in the name. However, the only thing new here is the addition of the fingerprint sensor at the back which the Honor 8A lacks. Let’s see what else the Honor 8A Pro has to offer.

Huawei Honor 8A Pro Design And Display
Huawei Honor 8A Pro has a 6.1-inch LCD display, 720 x 1560 pixels screen resolution, 19:9 aspect ratio and a 282 pixel per inch density. The water drop notch houses the single front-facing camera with a chin at the bottom. At the back of the device is also a single rear-facing camera, LED flash and a fingerprint sensor. Colour options available are just Blue and Black. Overall, the device weighs 150grams and measures 8mm in thickness. It also has both a dual SIM card slot and a dedicated MicroSD card slot for storage expansion so you don’t have to sacrifice a SIM slot to get more storage space.
Huawei Honor 8A Pro Camera Review
Nothing spectacular about the camera setup here. At the back is a single 13MP shooter with an f/1.9 aperture. It is also equipped with an LED flash, HDR and Panorama. For selfies, the single front-facing 8MP camera takes care of the job which also has HDR. Both the front and rear cameras can shoot videos in 1080p at 30fps.
Hardware and Software
The processor of the Honor 8A Pro is the same as the one on Honor 8A – A MediaTek MT6765 Helio P35 SoC which has an octa-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz alongside a PowerVR GE8320 GPU for gaming. This is hooked up to 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. Storage space can be expanded further, up to 512GB via the dedicated MicroSD card slot on board. As with other recent Honor smartphones, it runs EMUI 9.0 out of the box which is based on the latest Android Operating System – Android 9.0 Pie.
Battery & Network Connectivity
A 3,020mAh battery powers this device with no word yet on fast Charging support. There is no USB Type-C here, so charging as well as file transfer is done through the micro USB port. However, there is a 3.5mm jack so no need for a dongle. Other features available on the Honor 8A Pro includes 4G LTE connectivity, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, GPS, Bluetooth and FM radio.
Huawei Honor 8A Pro Price and Availability
Honor 8A Pro is available in Russia for just RUB13,990 which is approximately $218. There is no word yet if the Honor 8A Pro is a market exclusive smartphone or if it will be making its way to other markets anytime soon, only time will tell.
