HTC Desire 19s is a new entry-level device and a successor to the Desire 12s which refreshes not only the design of the device but also the internals with new specs. The HTC Desire 19s comes with a notched 6.2-inch display, a Mediatek Helio P22 SoC with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, triple camera setup and a 3,850mAh battery powering the whole device.
It also runs the not so latest Android 9.0 Pie and has a glass back with both a textured and glossy finish. Let’s see what else has changed from the Desire 12s.

HTC Desire 19s Design And Display
Starting off from the design of this device. It has a glass back which comprises of a textured bottom half for grip and a glossy top half where the fingerprint sensor and the triple rear cameras are located. The rear cameras here also have a dual-LED dual-tone flash.
Upfront, we are greeted with a 6.2-inch IPS LCD which has a waterdrop notch at the top housing the selfie camera. Coming back to the display, it has a 720p HD+ resolution and uses the 19:9 aspect ratio with a quite visible chin down at the bottom.
Overall the device weighs 170grams, measures 8.5mm in thickness. This device only comes in two colour options for you to choose from which are Black and Blue
Camera
There are a total of four cameras on the HTC Desire 19s, three of which are at the rear. The selfie camera tucked in the notch is a 16MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture. It also has HDR and is capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps.
Turning over to the back of the device reveals the triple camera setup located at the top left side. It comprises of a 13MP main sensor with an f/1.9 aperture and PDAF, 5MP ultrawide sensor with an f/2.2 aperture and a 5MP depth sensor for a portrait with an f/2.2 aperture.
The rear cameras have a Dual-LED dual-tone flash with support for features like HDR and Panorama. Just like the selfie camera up front, it can also shoot 1080p videos at 30fps.
Hardware and Software
The Helio P22 SoC from Mediatek is the brain of this device tasked with computing. This Helio P22 Chipset has 8-cores that clocks up to 2.0GHz in speed paired with a PowerVR GE8320 GPU for graphics/gaming. Running apps are held in place by the 3GB of RAM while your files can be stored on the 32GB of internal storage available.
There are no other RAM and storage options. However, if you need more storage, you can slot in a microSD card in the dedicated microSD card slot. You can add up to a whopping 1TB of additional storage. As for the software, HTC Desire 19s runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box
Battery and Connectivity
A 3,850mAh keeps the light turned on here with support for 10W fast battery charging for when you’re running out of juice. Speaking of charging, that is done through the USB Type-C port on here which can also be used for file transfer.
Other Features of this device includes 4G LTE connectivity, Bluetooth, GPS, dual-band WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, a 3.5mm jack and even NFC for payments.
HTC Desire 19s Price and Availability
HTC Desire 19s costs about $200 is only available in the Taiwanese market, at least for now.
