Huawei Nova 6 Series unveils with 5G support and 40W fast charging

Huawei has finally launched the Nova 6 lineup, which consists of three smartphones – Nova 6, Nova 6 5G and Nova 6 SE. Of course, the fascinating one is the Huawei Nova 6 5G. All three devices have identical body build and their difference lies in their specs and features.

Huawei Nova 6 & Nova 6 5G

The difference between the Nova 6 and Nova 6 5G is the 5G connectivity and battery capacity. The Nova 6 5G packs a 4,200 mAh battery while the Nova 6 has a 4,100 mAh battery. Both devices feature a 6.57-inch FHD+ AMOLED display technology with an oval punch hole located at the top left corner.

The oval punch-hole is home to not only one but two selfie cameras. It has a 32MP main sensor and an 8MP ultra-wide secondary sensor with a 105° degree field of view. The fingerprint reader is located at the right-hand side of the device inside the power button.

At the back of both Nova 6 phones is a triple camera setup. The camera module houses a 40MP main sensor, an 8MP telephoto sensor with OIS and an 8MP ultrawide sensor. Powering them both is Kirin 990 chipset laced with an 8GB RAM and storage options of 128GB and 256GB. The chipset in the Nova 6 5G is paired with Balong 5000 5G modem. Software-wise, they run on Android 10 with EMUI 10 skin on top.

Pre-order begins today for both phones and official sales will begin December 12. The 8/128GB model of the Nova 6 5G costs $540. Its bigger storage capacity (256GB) goes for $595. The Nova 6 (8/128GB) will be available for $454.

Nova 6 SE

The Nova 6 SE is the mid-ranger in this lineup from Huawei. It comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ LCD display. Unlike its senior siblings, the punch-hole in its display features just one camera – 16MP. It does manage to sport four cameras at the back – a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera and two 2MP sensors (macro and depth).

Inside the phone is the Kirin 810 SoC slapped with an 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM. Battery capacity is 4,200 mAh and it supports Huawei’s 40W SuperCharge. The device costs $315 and will be available from December 12, however pre-order starts today.
