Motorola One Hyper is official with 64MP main camera & 45W fast charging

The Motorola One Hyper is finally official and there is a lot to be excited about with this mid-ranger. For starters, it comes with a pop-up camera which is a first timer in the company’s history.

The Moto device comes with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD display with an 84%+ screen-to-body ratio. The display features a 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution with 396 PPI density. It has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The fingerprint reader at the back also acts as a notification light.

Powering the mid-ranger is the Snapdragon 675 chipset which was featured in the Moto Z4. The 675 chip is coupled with a decent 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM. Storage can be expanded via microSD up to 1TB, but it’s a move that will see you sacrifice the second SIM slot. The device features the fan’s favourite Moto Actions and runs on the latest Android 10 operating system.

Now back to the camera, which is literally the highlight of this device. At the back is a dual-camera module setup. The main camera features a large 64 MP sensor with 0.8µm pixels, an f/1.9 aperture and laser autofocus system. The secondary camera at the back features an 8MP sensor with 118° ultra-wide. Videos can be recorded in 4K @30fps or 1080p @60fps.

The selfie camera which uses a pop-up mechanism features a 32 MP sensor with (0.8µm pixels, 1.6µm with pixel binning). The pop-up mechanism is quite similar to what we’ve seen on Vivo and Oppo smartphones in 2019. In terms of selfie cam resolution, this is the highest ever in a Motorola smartphone.

Battery-wise, the Moto phone packs a 4,000 mAh battery. It supports the company’s “Hyper Charging” (45W wired charging) which can give you 12 hours of battery life in just 10 minutes. Sadly, the phone features a 15W charger out of the box. The 45W fast charger is sold separately.

The Motorola One Hyper will be available in both Brazil and the USA starting from today in Blue Ocean body colour. Amber Red and Fresh Orchid body colours will be available later on. For the USA market, the device costs $400. While for the Brazilian market, it goes for BRL2,200. No word yet regarding other regions/countries, but it will be available in the UK soon.
