Huawei P Smart Z Price in Nigeria and Full Specs Review

Huawei recently released a new smartphone – Huawei P smart Z(a weird name I must say) – with a pop Selfie camera, a first for the popular smartphone maker and surprisingly, the smartphone is in the Mid-range segment given its specs sheet and price. Before now, the pop-up camera has kind of been exclusive for flagship devices until now.

Asides from the motorised pop-up camera, the device is also packing a 6.59-inch display which is free of the notch, Huawei’s Kirin 710F SoC, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of expandable storage and a 4,000mAh battery.

Huawei P Smart Z Design And Display

Huawei P Smart Z brings a pretty new look to the mid-range segment with beautiful 6.59-inch full view display which free of notches – both bathtub and waterdrop ones. There is still a chin though but all other bezels are minimal. The front facing camera hides inside the device and is brought out by a motorised pop-up mechanism in under a second when in need. Thanks to this, the display which has a 1080 x 2340 display and full 19:9 aspect reached an impressive screen-to-body ratio of 84%.

At the back are the usuals; a dual camera setup here with an LED flash and a fingerprint sensor for biometric verifications. The phone weighs 196grams thanks to the massive battery on the inside and measures 8.2mm in thickness with Emerald Green, Midnight Black and Sapphire Blue as it’s colour options. It has both a single SIM and dual SIM version, both of which has a microSD card slot for additional storage.

At the back of the device is a dual camera setup consisting of a main 16MP sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and PDAF accompanied by a secondary 2MP depth sensor camera with an f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera is also equipped with features like LED flash, HDR, Panorama and 1080p video recording at 30fps. The single front-facing 16MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture tucked in the motorised compartment can also shoot 1080p videos at 30fps.

Hardware and Software

Huawei went with their own in-house Kirin 710F SoC here which is chipset built on the 10nm manufacturing process technology and has an octa-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz Alongside a Mali-G51 MP4 GPU for games.

Its 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage which is the only configuration it comes in. Storage space is also expandable here, up to 512GB via a microSD card. It runs the latest Android 9.0 Pie and of course, with EMUI 9.0 sprinkled on top.

Battery & Network Connectivity

This device is packing a 4,000mAh battery with no word on fast charging capabilities. It has all the necessary features of a 2019 midrange including 4G LTE connectivity, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, WiFi direct, GPS, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm jack and NFC depending on the market. Charging and file transfer is done through the USB Type-C port.

At the moment, there is no word on the launch date as well as pricing but according to rumours, it should have a starting price of about $320 which you should take with enough grain of salt as possible.
