Honor officially has a smartphone with pop-up selfie camera – Honor 9X and 9X Pro. The pop-up selfie camera has been a thing now in the smartphone market and it was only a matter of time before Honor joins the ship.
The Honor 9X and 9X Pro are identical as you would think. The 9X Pro comes with a slight upgrade which is expected as the pro version. On both phones is a 6.59 inch IPS LCD full-screen display with 1080p resolution. The fingerprint reader is located at the side of the phone.
The camera department shows the first difference between both devices. The Honor 9X features a dual rear camera consisting of a 48MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. While the Honor 9X Pro adds an 8MP ultrawide sensor to feature a triple rear camera module. The pop-up 16MP selfie camera is the same on both phones.
Underneath both Honor phones is the newest Kirin 810 SoC which debuted on the Huawei Nova 5 last month. The Kirin 810 chip clocks up to 2.3GHz and features Mali-G52 graphics processing unit. While on the software department is an EMUI 9.1 skin parlayed with Android 9.0 Pie.
For the memory configuration, the Honor 9X Pro comes in an 8GB/128GB and 8GB/256GB versions. While for the Honor 9X, there is 4/64GB, 6/64GB, and 6/128GB versions. There is a microSD slot for up to 512GB of storage on both models.
Probably a turn off for most people as both devices come without fast charge to support the 4000 mAh battery capacity.
According to reports, the Honor 9X will be released to the Chinese market on July 30th. While the Honor 9X Pro will drop later on August 9th. There is no word yet on when the phones will go abroad.
