After months of rumors and speculations, Apple has finally unveiled the iPhone 8 Plus. It comes with better camera and performance compared to the iPhone 7 Plus. But design wise, there is nothing to be excited about. It is still the same design language found on the iPhone 7 Plus.
iPhone 8 Plus Display
The iPhone 8 Plus display is still pegged at Full HD but now comes with a Retina HD display. The Screen measures 5.5-inch with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixel and 401pixel per inch.
So If you are an iPhone fan waiting to buy the new iPhone 8 Plus, you may be disappointed with the display and design. The device is still not significantly different from the iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 8 Plus still retains the TouchID as against the iPhone X with FaceID. Apple claims the Face ID is much more Secured than TouchID with a failure rate of 1,000,000 to 1 while that of Fingerprint has a failure of 50,000:1
iPhone 8 Plus performance and software
This is where things get interesting as the new iPhone 8 Plus is powered by the latest Apple A11 chipset boasting 2 powerful cores and four energy efficient ones. The processor is paired with Apple’s first made GPU which it claims is 30% faster than that of A100 found on the iPhone 7.
iPhone 8 Plus CAMERA
Worthy of note is Apple iPhone 8 Plus dual camera which comprises an improved 12MP+12MP combo. One regular with f/1.8 aperture and the second, a telephoto Camera that has aperture f/2.4.
The Apple iPhone 8 Plus is the second Apple phone to come with wireless charging which utilizes Q1 standard. The wireless charger from Apple can charge the iPhone 8 Plus, Apple Watch, and the Airpod. Apple called this Air power.
