Apple has announced the release of the iPhone SE 2022, its most compact and budget – friendly 5G smartphone. The device is the third iteration in the series, succeeding the iPhone SE (2020), which was released in. As a result, the phone comes with high expectations and has been a mainstay in the tech news cycle.
The iPhone SE (2022) features the latest flagship A15 Bionic chipset, which is also used in the iPhone 13 series. This adds 5G connectivity support to the entry-level iPhone. The phone is also reasonably priced, starting at $429, just a bit higher than that of the $399 iPhone SE 2020.
In terms of design, the iPhone SE 2022 keeps the same design as the iPhone SE 2020, which is similar to the iPhone 8. The device has a single 12MP camera on the back, which is tucked in the top left corner of the glass back panel.
Furthermore, the iPhone SE (2022) gets 5G connectivity, but not 5G mmWave bands. Rather, it operates in the sub-6 GHz band. The budget iPhone’s battery life is also improved thanks to the efficient A15 Bionic processor. There’s also IP67 water and dust resistance, as well as Qi wireless charging.
The new iPhone SE (2022) comes with 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB of storage. The phone will be available in three color options: midnight, starlight, and PRODUCT Red. The device will be available from March 18 in 30 countries, including Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Pre-orders for the device will begin on March 11th.
