itel S15 is a brand new device from itel and is the first smartphone to run the Gallery Go. It was launched alongside the itel S15 Pro in Nigeria
itel has dubbed the device-“Small Size, Big Performance”. Speaking of the performance, it has a Unisoc SC7731E SoC on the inside coupled with 1GB RAM and runs the Go Edition Of the Android 9.0 Pie operating system.
It also has a 6.1-inch display, dual rear cameras, a single front-facing camera and a 3,000mAh battery.

Design And Display
itel S15 has a pretty decent design for a budget device. Obviously, it uses plastic to keep the cost of the device low. It has a 6.1-inch display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a notch up top to house the front-facing camera with quite a huge chin down at the bottom.
At the back are the dual camera set-up, an LED flash and a fingerprint sensor for biometric unlock and authentication.
The device also has a dual SIM card slot with a separate and dedicated microSD card slot for additional storage. The colour option has been made available includes Elegant Black, Red, Grey and Blue.
Camera Specs
Camera-wise, the device features a total of three cameras here; two at the back and one tucked in the notch at the top of the display.
The ones at the back consist of a main 8MP sensor and a secondary 8MP sensor with an LED flash for low light shots. The rear camera is also equipped HDR, Panorama, PDAF, Facial recognition, Touch Focus, Geo-tagging and the ability to shoot 720p videos at 30fps.
The single front-facing 16MP camera which can also shoot 720p videos at 30fps also has it’s own LED flash in order to make your selfies pop in the dark.
Hardware and Software
Itel decided to go with a Unisoc SoC here, Specifically, the Unisoc SC7731E which has a Quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz alongside a Mali-T820 MP2 GPU for graphics.
This is hooked to 1GB of RAM and16GB of internal storage. You can expand the storage further by slotting in a microSD card in the dedicated microSD card slot of up to 128GB.
It runs the Go Edition of Android 9.0 Pie out of the box which is a very optimised version of the Android operating system for low-end devices.
Of course, it is covered with the itel UI with some extra features. It also has all the usual Go apps with the latest addition being the Gallery Go app – The first device to come with the new app.
Battery and Connectivity
It is powered by a moderate 3,000mAh battery with no fast charging. It also doesn’t have 4G LTE, however, it does have Bluetooth, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, GPS, a 3.5mm jack and a MicroUSB port for charging and file transfer.
itel S15 Price and Availability
Ite S15 price in Nigeria has been announced and it costs just N23,400 Naira.
