Koolnee K1 Trio is the advanced version of the Koolnee K1 smartphone we reviewed earlier. The Trio version, as the name suggests, has a tri-bezel-less display just like most Mix smartphones from China.

The device is also a beefed up variant of the K1 packing 6GB of RAM for multitasking and a massive 128GB storage space. Furthermore, it has the Face ID feature, with the fingerprint scanner moving over to the front and a massive battery capacity.

KOOLNEE K1 TRIO DESIGN

Koolnee smartphones are known for their elegance looking body with amazing detail. The K1 Trio didn’t fall short of that glory, with a conscious design and craftsmanship that’s second to none. The device is visually appealing with curved edges.

At the top middle, there’s a vertically mounted foundation that houses the dual rear shooters and LED flash. Overall, it weighs 215g and has a multi-layer protection. It measures 8.4mm in thickness as well and available in Black and Blue colours only.

Koolnee created the K1 Trio for those that love Mix series all over the world, the K1 Trio gives you the tri-bezel-less display with no notch at the top. The bottom bezel houses a physical home button which doubles as the fingerprint scanner.

It’s equipped with the same 6.01-inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen on the K1. This boasts of 1080 x 2160 pixels in resolution and 401.82 pixels per inch density. The border-less 4D curved screen is very comfortable to operate with a single hand and stretches up to 80.23% screen to body ratio.

HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE

It houses the MediaTek Helio P23 MTK6763 chip, which was built on a more power efficient 16nm process technology. The chip comes with an Octa-core processor which clocks at a faster rate of 2.0GHz, while the ARM Mali-T860 MP2 graphics card boasts of 2-cores.

There’s a bigger 6GB RAM space available for multitasking, it has a memory speed of 1.6GHz as well. For storing files, Koolnee bumped it up a notch with a massive 128GB storage space. You can always upgrade up to 256GB with a memory card, as it runs smoothly on Android 7.1 Nougat.

The same dual rear 16MP + 2MP shooters from Sony are present here with 4X Digital Zoom. The cameras come with a lot of features including Bokeh effect. The 8MP selfie camera has a portrait mode that lets portrait yourself in depth with beautify technology 7.0. The selfie camera also supports Face ID and sits at the bottom bezel.
