KOOLNEE RAINBOW DESIGN
This is a budget smartphone from the company, so we weren’t expecting a jaw-dropping design. It has a Plastic removable back cover which you can easily remove and put another. Even though there’s no fingerprint scanner at the back, it’s still attractive.
We can see the rear camera in the top left corner with the LED flash sitting right beside it. It seems the Koolnee logo takes the place of the fingerprint scanner which is really disappointing. It measures 8.5mm in thickness and weighs 150g overall. You can choose between Gold, Black and Blue colours.
KOOLNEE RAINBOW DISPLAY
Although it doesn’t feature the trending 18:9 aspect ratio screen, the Koolnee Rainbow is still a beauty from the front. Going with the price, the screen is more than perfect, stretching to the sides, while the bottom bezel houses the navigation buttons.
Displaying visuals is the small 5-inch HD IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, it has a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels and 294 pixels per inch density. The dishes out a 16:9 aspect ratio obviously and stretches up to 70% screen to body ratio.
HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
Under the hood, the MediaTek MT6580A chip does its job really well, although it was built on a 28nm process technology. The chip comes with a Quad-core processor which clocks at a normal rate of 1.3GHz, while the ARM Mali-400 MP2 graphics card has 2-cores and clocks at 500MHz.
The 1GB RAM space available here boasts of 533MHz in memory speed. This should be more than enough to multitask through your light Go apps. There’s 8GB storage space ready to accommodate your files as well, you can expand up to 32GB. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition smoothly.
