Lenovo A5 was launched in Beijing as well as the K5 we reviewed earlier. The A5 isn’t as powerful as the K5 though, it targets those on a budget and offers great value money. Most importantly, it comes with a full view display, this makes it more trendy and premium.
Specs-wise, the A5 shouldn’t be underestimated, I think it’s ready to give the Redmi Note 5A a run for its money. There’s 3GB RAM, a storage variant of 32GB runs on Android 8.0 Oreo and packs a massive 4000mAh battery. Let’s find out more.

DESIGN
The Lenovo comes with a Plastic back and a Metal frame, the device comes in beautiful colours as well. I’m really impressed with Lenovo, the A5 is really cute and looks good for a budget smartphone. There’s a rear fingerprint scanner at its usual position as well.
What you’re seeing at the top left corner is just a single rear camera with a LED flash in a horizontal format. Because of the massive battery capacity, it measures 9.8 mm in thickness and weighs 160g overall. It’s available in Black, Gold and Rose Gold colours.
DISPLAY
The A5 sports a bezel-less screen that dishes out an 18:9 aspect ratio, this is quite impressive for a smartphone in its price range. The screen stretches all the way to the sides, while the top and bottom bezel are super minimal.
Displaying stunning visuals is the 5.45-inch HD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen which should be a pleasure to watch. It boasts of 720 x 1440 pixels in resolution and 295 pixels per inch density. Furthermore, it stretches up to 73.9% of the entire front.
HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
The MediaTek MT6739 takes charge here, it comes with 4-core processor and 64-bit CPU architecture. The Quad-core processor didn’t come here to pay, it clocks at a fast rate of 1.5GHz with 28nm process technology. The graphics processor is the PowerVR GE8100.
In terms of RAM, there’s 3GB available and is big enough for the normal user. While for storage, there are two versions, a standard version with 32GB and a cheaper variant with 16GB. However, you can upgrade up to 256GB anytime you want. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with ZUI 3.9.
CAMERA
The 13MP rear shooter has f/2.2 aperture and captures normal photographs. It comes with a LED flash and Internal features like autofocus, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and panorama. You can also shoot videos of 720p@30fps, while the 8MP selfie camera has f/2.2 aperture as well.
BATTERY
The Lenovo A5 is powered by a non-removable Li-Ion 4000mAh battery with no fast charging technology.
