Lenovo Tab 7 and Tab 7 Essential
Lenovo just launched two new affordable tablets, the Lenovo Tab 7 and Tab 7 essential which are an update to their affordable tablet line. Both tablets are quite similar, but of course, there are a few differences.
DESIGN
They both look alike, but the Lenovo Tab 7 is heavier than the Lenovo Tab 7 Essential. The Lenovo Tab 7 weighs 260g, while the Lenovo Tab 7 Essential weighs just 254g. The device was designed mainly with aluminium and plastic and is only available in Black. For a low-range tablet, the Tab 7 is quite stunning and classy.
DISPLAY
Yes, there are bezels! I don’t like it either, but with its affordable price, I wasn’t expecting less. It boasts of a 7-inch IPS LCD display with screen resolution of 1280 x 720p. While the screen resolution on the Lenovo Tab 7 Essential was reduced to 600 x 1024p.
HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE
For a low-range tablet, it offers quite an amazing performance. A MediaTek MT8161 chipset and 1.30GHz Quad-core processor should run the tablet swiftly. There’s also 16GB internal storage on the tablet for storing files, upgradeable to 128GB with microSD. For multitasking and app launching, it has just 1GB of RAM. Both run on Android 7.0 Nougat OS.
CAMERA
With the tab 7, you get the 5MP rear camera for capturing beautiful moments and 2MP selfie camera for taking selfies and video calls. On the Lenovo Tab 7 Essential, you only get a 2MP rear camera for photography and another 2MP selfie camera for taking selfies and video calls.
BATTERY
Both tablets are powered by a 3500mAh Non-removable battery.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
The tablet available for just $99, that’s about N35,000 – N40,000. While the Lenovo Tab 7 Essential is available for just $79, that’s about N27,000 – N35,000.
